Nothing’s stopping Something in the Way Festival from returning to Roadrunner in 2026.

The alt-rock weekend created by Bowery Boston and Run For Cover Records will host its second edition at the Brighton venue on January 31 and February 1. The 2026 lineup is a solid complement to the inaugural Boston edition’s slate of performers, gathering a mix of alternative, emo, and post-hardcore bands, many of which are Run For Cover signees.

Sunny Day Real Estate (pictured above) and Explosions in the Sky are scheduled to headline, while acts like The Hotelier, Gollylagging, and Park National will rep Boston’s rock scene. Some performers that guests will recognize from Run For Cover’s roster — past and present — include Angel Du$t, Citizen, Pelican, Tigers Jaw, Teen Suicide, Wicca Springs Eternal, and Boston’s Horse Jumper of Love.

The two-day event will be split into two stages, with “no overlapping sets,” per this week’s lineup announcement. Presale passes are available now, although fans can snag “fee-free” tickets at Run For Cover’s pop-up record shop at the Sinclair this Saturday, which runs from noon to 4 p.m; early birds will also be able to snag free festival posters while supplies last.
