At some point earlier in the year, Eugene Mirman called some of his pretty good friends on the phone. As it turns out, they weren’t just good friends, but also excellent comedians who, evidently, answered that call and agreed to join him for a show in Somerville, and that show is finally upon us.
Making his way back to Davis Square on Thursday (December 11), the delightfully quirky comedian and Bob’s Burgers star has assembled a bit of an Avengers-type lineup for his latest show at Crystal Ballroom, titled Eugene Mirman and his Really Good Friends. Some of those who will join him for the evening will be Jon Glaser, most notably of Parks & Recreation fame, and local stand-up favorite Janet McNamara, as well as a touted selection of special surprise guests who shall remain nameless until the big night.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Mirman’s journey to being one of the most well-respected names in the art form, aside from his unrelenting discovery of the most off-the-wall things that can be processed by a human brain, it’s that he’s so damn good at curating a baller lineup, so this will be a must-see show on many levels.
