Editor’s Note: Welcome to V3 Weekend, Vanyaland‘s guide to help you sort out your weekend entertainment with curated selections and recommendations across our three pillars of MusicComedy, and Film/TV. It’s what you should know about, where you need to be, and where you’ll be going, with us riding shotgun along the way.

MusicFinally Reloaded Fest, Hope Fest, Electronic Tobin

Holy shit is this a killer weekend for live music, parties, and festivals around the Boston area. As we scanned the listings and plotted out our own fun, we quickly realized we needed to break format here and hype a few events in one space. We’re looking past the big-ticket concerts (Rammstein at Gillette Stadium; Chili Peppers at Fenway Park; Kid Cudi at TD Garden) for a trio of local festivals: Boston Got Next’s Finally Reloaded Fest at ONCE Boynton Yards on Saturday (September 10); Hope Fest at Sammy’s Patio in Revere on Saturday and Sunday (September 9 and 10); and Electronic Tobin under the Tobin Bridge viaduct on Saturday (September 10).

The performer lineups are stacked for Finally Reloaded and Hope Fest (check ’em below; that’s Boston Got Next’s DJ WhySham in the pic up top), and Electronic Tobin brings local dance party DJs and visual installations to a public space with endorsement from the city of Chelsea (so no fear of rolling up only to find it shut down). We probably could have hyped a dozen more events in this space, so check your local listings and have some fun this weekend; you deserve it.

Comedy: Neil Hamburger at The Crystal Ballroom

Any time Neil Hamburger comes to town is a special occasion, and some of our earliest memories of Great Scott as an indie venue in the mid-’00s were watching Gregg Turkington’s character makes us all fairly uncomfortable over our Will Clarks and PBRs. Tonight (September 9), Hamburger is at Crytal Ballroom in Somerville, and it was a featured pick in this week’s Mic’d Up. As Jason Greenough writes: “It’s off balance, messy, and you never really know what direction the night will take. Long story short, that’s what makes Neil Hamburger a whopper of a comedian, in that the chaos is the art, and the unkempt comedy persona of Gregg Turkington largely a masterclass in oddball, off-pace anti-humor that is sure to be as mesmerizing as it is hilarious.”

NEIL HAMBURGER :: Friday, September 9 at Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square in Somerville, MA :: 7:30 p.m. :: Advance tickets

Film/TV: ‘Legally Blonde’ drag screening

Watching Legally Blonde is usually its own brand of fun, but watching it with a group of drag queens is another level of enjoyment entirely. Dust off those Pradas, grab those dollars, and hit Cinema Salem tonight as Miz Diamond Wigfall and Queer Videography team up for “a night of games, drag, and murder” while Reese Witherspoon’s 2001 comedy flashes up on the big screen. Cinema Salem brought the goods all summer with its Back to the ’90s Summer Rewind series, and we’re tickled pink to see the fun continue now into the fall. Plus, we only have a few short weeks before Salem becomes inaccessible due to the tourist shit, so get in now while ya can.

‘LEGALLY BLONDE’ :: Friday, September 9 at Cinema Salem, 1 E India Square Mall in Salem, MA :: 9:30 p.m., $20 :: Advance tickets :: Event info
