The relationship between Adam Sandler and the Safdie Brothers has proven to be one of great success and creative intensity. Now, the Sandman is reuniting with one of the brothers to deliver something with less solid gold Ferbie necklaces, and way more jokes.

As announced earlier this week, Sandler will be returning to the comedy special game with his all-new Netflix special, Love You, which is scheduled to premiere on August 27. While the hour will, of course, be powered by Sandler’s legendary multi-faceted musical and traditional stand-up comedy, the show will be directed by Josh Safdie, who co-directed the Sandler-led 2019 smash hit Uncut Gems (which we predictably loved).

The special will mark Sandler’s second special for Netflix, following up his 2018 effort 100% Fresh, and will surely find Sandler keeping us to speed on the foibles and absurdities he finds throughout his life as a father and husband, as well as a new batch of behind-the-scenes stories from his 30-plus years in the spotlight as one of comedy’s greatest talents.
