Editor’s Note: It’s the same thing we all know in love when it comes to Vanyaland’s recurring weekly live comedy rundown, Mic’d Up — just a slightly different face. We’ll be hyping club shows, theater and arena gigs, open mics, and whatever else to help fill your free time with some much-needed laughter.

The last time he came through town, Kyle Gordon showed us how and why he’s great. As he returns to the area this week, not only is he still great at what he does, but he’s also feeling wonderful while doing it.

Throwing down at Somerville’s Crystal Ballroom on Thursday (April 10), Gordon returns to the area with a guitar in hand, and a whole new batch of style parodies that wring the absurdities from the very core of their respective genres with hilarity and a riveting attention to detail. Rolling along his current tour route fueled by the excitement surrounding his sophomore full-length album, Kyle Gordon is Wonderful, the viral comedian and musician has curated yet another top-notch live experience that balances the energy of a rock show with the intimacy of a comedy set that surely will prove to be one of the best shows you’ll catch all year.

Of course, Gordon will keep on wanderin’ well beyond Somerville, but one thing we know for certain is that, from planet earth to the planet of the bass, his creative and comedic force will never die, so hop aboard while the train rolls through.

KYLE GORDON :: Thursday, April 10 at Crystal Ballroom, 55 Davis Square in Somerville, MA : 6:30 p.m., all ages, $34.50 :: Advance tickets
