West Hollywood isn’t the only place celebrating Pride month “out loud” this year. The California-based OUTLOUD Music Festival is expanding to include a Boston edition, which is scheduled for June 21 at The Stage at Suffolk Downs.
In alignment with the mission of the West Hollywood version, the Boston festival will aims to create a safe gathering place for the LGBTQIA+ community, while also giving a platform to a variety of queer artists. Bawdy pop star Kim Petras leads the fest’s lineup, which also includes Trixie Mattel (pictured above), Flo Milli, Rebecca Black (yes, singer of “Friday”), G Flip, Hannah Rad, and Frankie Grande (yes, brother of Ariana). The bill boasts a strong contingent of LGBTQIA+ artists from Boston as well, including emcees Oompa and Big Body Kweeng, and DJ MATH3CA.
Jeff Consoletti, founder and executive producer of OUTLOUD, was born and raised in Boston, which is likely why the fest’s first East Coast edition is rooted in the 617. The festival is presented by JJLA and Bowery Presents.
Festival tickets — which include general admission and VIP passes — go on sale this Friday (April 18) at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
