If there’s one person who could possibly make Boston any bigger or weirder, it’s ‘Weird’ Al Yankovic. In fact, he’s setting out to do both upon his return to the city.
With the collar of a Hawaiian shirt popped and his trusty accordion in hand, the iconic parody guru makes his way to Boston for a night at the Boch Center Wang Theatre on Tuesday (July 15) as part of his highly successful Bigger & Weirder tour. The return to Boston for Yankovic and his longtime bandmates surely comes with a little bit of extra “juice” this time around, merely days after a momentous gathering of 15,000 loyal, passionate fans at New York’s Madison Square Garden, which emphatically marked the first time he’s ever played the iconic venue.
Although he has remained quiet on the release front, Yankovic is set to bring all the fan favorite tracks from his 40+ year catalog of lyrical genius, as well as his most recent release in Polkamania!, an all-new polka medley he dropped last summer, shortly after chatting with us about it.
Things are getting weirder by the day, for sure, but Yankovic’s is the only one seemingly bringing the weirdness in a good way, so check him out while he’s back in town.
