Editor’s Note: “Boston Thriving” is an ongoing series from Vanyaland highlighting and honoring the national and global success of Boston- and New England-based bands and artists.

We’re still waiting for the song of the summer to reveal itself, but the NFL has officially locked in the “sounds of the season” — thanks in part to Clark D.

The “Boston-made” rapper and producer contributed one of the nine songs on the league’s new playlist, which is meant to soundtrack the upcoming 2025-2026 football season. The collection of music will be used for in-game broadcasts and the NFL’s social platforms, and will also be played in football stadiums nationwide over the coming months.

Clark D’s tune “Locked In” appears among songs from Bootsy Collins, Clipse, and J Balvin & DJ Snake, among others. The artist announced the news on social media today (August 28), one week ahead of the upcoming NFL season, writing “we luv sports on this side.”
